Health, Wealth, or Happiness: What Do Americans Really Want?

If we're not healthy enough to enjoy our success or wealth, then what's the point?

You know how we're always trying to get to the bottom of what makes people tick here at Freedomology? Well, we recently decided to hire an independent research company to survey over 1,000 Americans about what they value most.

And let me tell you, the results were really surprising to me!

Now, before I tell you what people said, let me ask you: If you had to choose between health, wealth, or happiness, which would you pick?

Go on, take a second to think about it.

Got your answer?

Great, let's see how it stacks up against what we found out.

Drum roll, please...

It turns out that a whopping 52.3% of Americans said they'd choose health over wealth or happiness! That's right, more than half of us would rather be healthy than wealthy or even happy.

Now, that might sound a bit backwards at first - I mean, isn't the pursuit of happiness what it's all about? But hang on, because this is where it gets really interesting.

Here's the kicker: 94.6% of the people surveyed believe they'll be happy IF they're healthy. So in a way, by choosing health, they're choosing happiness too.

Now, I don't know about you, but this got me thinking about my own priorities.

How often do we push our health to the back burner while chasing after success or trying to pad our bank accounts?

But if we're not healthy enough to enjoy that success or wealth, what's the point?

The survey dug even deeper, asking people what they'd be willing to give up for a lifetime of perfect health. Any guesses?

Social media topped the list at 54.6%, followed closely by chocolate at 48.6%.

The survey also showed that people see a strong link between their health and their work performance. Over half of the respondents said they perform better and are more productive at work when they feel healthy.

As someone who's always preaching about the connection between physical health and overall success, I was thrilled when I saw these numbers!

And let's talk about relationships for a second.

The survey found that when people feel healthy, they're more likely to socialize, have sex, and meet new people.

On the flip side, when they're not feeling their best, they tend to isolate themselves.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Now, this wasn't just some online poll we threw together.

We hired Propeller Insights, a reputable research company, to conduct a proper, scientifically sound survey. They talked to 1,035 people from all walks of life, making sure we got a true representation of what Americans think.

You can check out the full article about the survey here if you want to dive into the nitty-gritty details.

So, what does all this mean?

To me, it's clear validation of what we've been saying at Freedomology all along.
