Why Fitnessology Became Freedomology

Some people still search for 'fitnessology.' Here's the short history of why we changed the name — and why fitness alone was never the point.

Why Fitnessology Became Freedomology

Why Fitnessology Became Freedomology

Short version: we started with a fitness-only program called Fitnessology, then realized within a year that every durable transformation we saw ran on three pillars — health, wealth, and relationships — not one. We renamed the company Freedomology to reflect what the work actually is: freedom across the whole life, not just the body. If you landed here looking for Fitnessology, you're in the right place. The methodology got bigger, not smaller.

A handful of people still type "fitnessology" into Google looking for us. This post is for them, and for anyone curious about the backstory.

The Short History

Fitnessology was the original name. It started as a coaching program focused squarely on health and fitness — diet, movement, habits. We ran it for a season, helped a lot of people get healthier, and kept noticing the same pattern.

The folks who really transformed — the ones whose lives looked unrecognizable a year later — never did it on fitness alone. Something else always shifted at the same time. Their marriage got better. Or they finally got out of credit card debt. Or they found a faith practice that stuck. Or they quit the job that was slowly killing them.

The fitness was the entry point. It was never the whole story.

Why We Renamed

The more we worked with people, the clearer it got: trying to fix your health while your finances are imploding and your marriage is on life support is like bailing water out of a boat with three other holes in it. The water keeps coming back.

Real, durable change requires all three pillars moving at once:

  • Health — your body, your mind, your environment
  • Wealth — your income, your independence, your capacity for impact
  • Relationships — with others, yourself, and (for many of us) God

That's the framework Freedomology is built on. And "Fitnessology" was too narrow a name for what the work actually is. We renamed the company to match the mission: freedom across all three, not just the body.

If you want the longer version of the framework, our Health, wealth, and relationships guide lays it out in full.

What Freedomology Is Now

Today Freedomology is a coaching membership built around three flagship 40-day sprints:

  • H40 — the Health Sprint. Physical, mental, and environmental health.
  • F40 — the Financial Sprint. Income, independence, and impact.
  • R40 — the Relationships Sprint. Others, yourself, and your creator.

Plus the Nine Gauge assessment, a private community of 7,000+ members, monthly coaching calls, and a full library of tools. The fitness piece is still there — it's just one of nine dimensions we work across.

A Note to the People Still Searching "Fitnessology"

You're not wrong to remember the original name. It just stopped being accurate.

If you came here for a fitness program, the H40 Health Sprint is the direct descendant — same methodology, sharper protocols, bigger community. If what you actually want is the life change that was always underneath the fitness goal, the full Freedomology membership covers all three pillars at once.

Either way, welcome. And Take the free Nine Gauge first — it'll show you which of the three pillars to start with. Guessing is the thing that usually keeps people stuck.
